How to use Gauges

In order to get the gauges in Visual Basic you need to:

  • Click Project in the menu
  • Select Components
  • scroll down to GMS look for one of the following:
    • GMS Angular Gauge ActiveX Control
    • GMS Joystick ActiveX Control
    • GMS Knob ActiveX Control
    • GMS Linear Gauge ActiveX Control
  • Check it, make sure there is a check mark in the box and click OK
    • If it is not in the list 
      • Click the Browse button to the right of the list, the system32 folder will open
      • find the appropriate file
        • Agauges.ocx file - GMS Angular Gauge ActiveX Control
        • Joysticks.ocx file - GMS Joystick ActiveX Control
        • Knobs.ocx file - GMS Knob ActiveX Control
        • Lgauges.ocx file - GMS Linear Gauge ActiveX Control
      • Click the file and Click OK
      • Check it, make sure there is a check mark in the box
      • Click OK
  • Once the Gauge is loaded it will appear at the bottom of the
    toolbox. 
  • Place it on the form as you would any other object.
